One idea at the center: 型, the practiced form. Ink instead of black, and grained Japanese gradients that move as a single living light. The official identity, ready to use. Please keep it quiet: it is quiet on purpose.

The lockup.

The circle and the wordmark, together. The letters are custom drawn, not a typed font. Give the lockup clear space at least the height of its circle, and never redraw, recolor or stretch it.

Symbol

The circle.

The circle stands for Kata on its own: app icons, avatars, a favicon, anywhere the wordmark will not fit. It is a full disc, never outlined. The name itself is 型, the form you practice until it becomes you; the circle is that form made simple.

Gradients

The nine Japanese gradients.

Color in Kata is organized, not decorative. Each area of the app owns one grained gradient, named for a Japanese image. You always know where you are by the light around you. Each is offered as an SVG.

The living gradient.

Watch the circle and it moves. Over a 36 second loop it drifts through the whole palette, haru rose to mizu blue to matcha green and back, and the primary buttons drift with it. The mark and the interface breathe as one.

Many tones flowing as a single form: the one and the many, held together. That is 型, the practiced form, and it is how Kata works. One calm system that quietly takes the shape of the person practicing it.

Type

The type.

Two families, clear roles. General Sans carries body and interface; Archivo, wide and set tight, carries display headlines and the big figures. No other typefaces.
